Heart Rolls

Every year our youth host a dinner at church called "Sweetheart Dinner" they set up individual tables and serve couples in our branch dinner. Singles are also invited and they usually all sit together and there are babysitters in another room to watch the little ones so young couples can come and have a dinner out without costing anything and their little ones are near by.

This year I am making rolls instead of buying garlic bread, making Alfredo sauce from scratch this will be over noodles with chicken, salad, and desserts that the girls are making.

The rolls are my regular recipe but the shape is new and I wanted to share how I did it.

Take a small piece of dough, between a golf ball and a tennis ball. Roll it out long like above. I usually have oil to roll my rolls and bread out but with this you need a floured surface.

Roll each end toward the middle this of a man with a long mustache and he rolls the ends towards the center of his face.

When the rolls come together they will look like this. Place them on your pan and let rise or bake. I usually with rolls let them rise just a few minutes and then put them in the oven.

Now you have hearts of course my son said when he first saw them that they looked like deformed hearts. Awww 16 year olds you just gotta love their candor.

I brushed them with butter but I think they would be good with a garlic butter on them with parsley and parmesian cheese.

You decide.
